Microsoft Strengthening Consumer Channels

Microsoft India has appointed Chakrapani GK, as Head, Consumer Channels Group (CCG), India. The group will operationally consolidate all of Microsoft’s consumer products and channels across retail, operator channels and OEMs.

Bhaskar Pramanik, Chairman, Microsoft India said, “Today in the consumer space with Windows Phone, Windows 7, XBox, Kinect and Microsoft Office, we have a very exciting set of offerings and committed channels to reach them. Chakrapani brings with him extensive experience in the ICT industry and deep understanding of how to create scale in an emerging market. Under his leadership, we expect to deliver great devices, services and software to the Indian consumer.”

Chakrapani said, “It is incredibly exciting to work with one of the most revered brands in the technology industry. I am looking forward to working with industry and channel partners to leverage Microsoft’s consumer products to meet the growing needs and aspirations of millions of Indian consumers”.

Chakrapani brings over 19 years of experience with him. Until recently, he worked as Director, Mobile Financial Services Business, Nokia focusing. He has held several sales, marketing and business management roles for solution providers including Datacraft (now Dimension Data). Chakrapani has also spent three years as an entrepreneur founding and managing an ecommerce startup; Office Infinity during 2000-2002.
