At first glance, it will be difficult to differentiate the Yureka Plus from the Yureka. Look closer and you will still won’t any difference, because the only change is about the display resolution.

Where the Yureka flaunted a HD (1280×720 pixels) display, the Yureka Plus flaunts a full HD (1920×1080 pixels) display. With this one upgrade, the Yureka Plus now shares the crown with the Lenovo K3 Note as the most affordable smartphone in India with a full HD display.

In day-to-day usage, a difference between a 720p display, and a 1080p display is not easily visible, unless you keep both the smartphones side by side. The display on the Yureka Plus is bright, does a fair job in reproducing colors and texts look sharp as well. Viewing angles are good too, and so is the legibility under direct sunlight.

Besides the upgrade in the display, the Yureka Plus is identical to its predecessor. The front of the smartphone is dominated by the display, and the capacitive buttons.

At the back is a removable polycarbonate back panel, 13-megapixel camera, speakers and the Yu logo.

The Yureka Plus is touted as a sturdy smartphone, and the company highlighted its powers by subjecting it to an extreme drop test.

We conducted a couple of tests of our own by dropping it from our table, bed as well as down a flight of stairs, and there was not a single scratch or dent anywhere.

The smartphone is still powered by a Snapdragon 615 64-bit octa-core processor, and performance is smooth. On the software front, it runs on Cyanogen OS 12 based on Android Lollipop out-of-the-box, and you still get a whole host of customization options to play around with. While the Yureka ran on Cyanogen OS 11 out-of-the-box, it has since been updated to Cyanogen OS 12. The company has fixed most of the bugs that had plagued the Yureka at its launch. The overall performance was smooth, including screen transitions, scrolling, and opening and closing of apps.
