Make in India: Micromax opens manufacturing facility in Hyderabad

Mobile phone manufacturer Micromax on Thursday opened its new manufacturing facility which will have the capacity to manufacture one million mobile phones per month. The unit, which opened at Fab City, currently employs 700 people and will increase the number to 1,000 in next two months. Spread over His 19 acres, this is the second manufacturing plant of Bhagati Products Ltd. in India.

The company made an initial investment in the unit which also has provision for expansion to manufacture LED TV and other electronic equipment in the future.

Micromax at an event in Delhi, made a many important announcements ranging from new smartphone its own e-store. The company also mentioned its mission for the next four years and said that it is partnership with Visa and TransServ to introduce the Udio mobile wallet. Micromax also announced two new flagship devices called as the Canvas 6 and Canvas 6 Pro.

Micromax Canvas 6 Pro specifications and features:

It features a 5.5-inch full HD (1080p) display and is powered by MediaTek’s 64-bit Helio X10 octa-core processor paired with 4GB of RAM, and also offers 16GB of onboard storage and a microSD card slot for further expansion.

On the camera front, there is a 13-megapixel rear camera of aperture f/2.0 with 5P Largan lens, LED flash and PDAF. Up front is a 8-megapixel wide angle camera for selfies.
It also features a 3,000mAh battery, connectivity options like 4G LTE support, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS, and on the software front, it runs on Android OS with Micromax’s customized OS running atop.

Micromax Canvas 6 specifications and features:

The Canvas 6 also features a 5.5-inch full HD display and is powered by 64-bit MediaTek Helio X10 octa-core processor. It is paired with 32GB of internal storage and 3GB of RAM, as opposed to 4GB RAM in the ‘Pro.’ A microSD card slot for further expansion is also present.

Other specifications of the phone remain the same.
