It is that time of the year again when users are eagerly waiting for their devices to be updated to the latest version of Android which is 7.0/7.1 Nougat. If you happen to own a Pixel or Nexus device, you should already be rocking Nougat and same is the case for LG V20 users. Google’s Pixel and Nexus devices will be getting Android 7.1.1 Nougat update starting this week. However, many of you might still be wondering whether your device will be getting the update while others maybe basing their device purchasing decision based on the update roadmap. This list will keep you informed up to date on matters regarding the updates.

Before we start off, it is important to note that as of November 2016, the adoption rate for Android 7.0 Nougat was just 0.3% out of all the Android device on the market. Marshmallow too entered the market with a similar share but is now running on 24% of all Android devices.

It is also important to note that while the device listed here will get the update, there maybe other devices that haven’t yet been added to the list and as a result, we shall regularly add new devices to the list as and when manufacturers announce the update plans. Also keep in mind that any update timeline might change based on the country as well as on whether or not, you have an unlocked unit or a carrier specific one.

Motorola

Motorola has released a full list of devices that have been confirmed to receive Android 7.0 Nougat. The update has already started rolling out for the Moto Z and Moto Z Force as well as Moto Z Droid and Z Droid Force on Verizon . It is expected to roll out for 4th Generation Moto G devices by the end of this month. This means that as always, Moto is leading the pack when it comes to the speed at which their devices get updated to the latest Android version.

Here are the devices that will be getting the update:
Moto G (4th Gen)
Moto G Plus (4th Gen)
Moto G Play (4th Gen)
Moto X Pure Edition (3rd Gen)
Moto X Style
Moto X Play
Moto X Force
Droid Turbo 2
Droid Maxx 2
Moto Z
Moto Z Droid
Moto Z Force Droid
Moto Z Play
Moto Z Play Droid
Nexus 6
Unfortunately, the Moto E3 power and the 3rd generation Moto G do not make the cut.

Sony

Sony too released their list of devices and here are the models that will be getting the update. Sony Xperia X Performance and Xperia XZ started getting the update recently.

Here are the devices that will be getting the update:
Xperia Z3+
Xperia Z4 Tablet
Xperia Z5
Xperia Z5 Compact
Xperia Z5 Premium
Xperia X
Xperia XA
Xperia XA Ultra
Xperia X Performance

The Xperia Z2 and Z3 are not on the list but its not been confirmed whether they will be receiving the update at a later point in time or not. However, considering that those two are fairly old, we think that Sony might skip giving them an update.

HTC

HTC was the first company to announce support for Android N on its devices back in May, right after Google I/O. The following devices were on the confirmed list:
One A9
One M9
HTC 10

HTC said that these devices would be getting the updates sometime during Q4 2016 and as of December 2016, the unlocked HTC 10 version has already received the update . HTC does have several other devices as well, however they haven’t really confirmed updates nor given a time-frame for the same.

OnePlus

The OnePlus 3 will be getting the update officially but as of now, it is already receiving the update via Open Beta 8 for Beta Testers. It will run on OxygenOS 4.0 which is based on Nougat 7.0. The new OnePlus 3T smartphone is also expected to get the stable Nougat update simultaneously by the end of this month, however OnePlus hasn’t yet spoken out about the OnePlus 2, OnePlus X and OnePlus One.

LG

LG was the first manufacturer to release a phone that came with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box with the V20. In fact, it shipped even before Google’s own Pixel phones that came with Nougat as well albeit, Nougat 7.1. The LG G5 , the company’s other flagship phone is expected to get the update officialy sometime soon but customers can get the update through the Preview Program.

They haven’t stated what other phones will be getting the update and when though.

Huawei

Huawei recently confirmed Nougat update for a range of devices. Here are the devices that will be getting the update:

Huawei Mate 8
Huawei P9
Huawei P9 Plus
Huawei P9 lite
Nova Huawei
Huawei Nova Plus
Huawei’s sub-brand Honor is yet to confirm its Android Nougat update plans.
