It is that time of the year again when users are eagerly waiting for their devices to be updated to the latest version of Android which is 7.0/7.1 Nougat. If you happen to own a Pixel or Nexus device, you should already be rocking Nougat and same is the case for LG V20 users. Google’s Pixel and Nexus devices will be getting Android 7.1.1 Nougat update starting this week. However, many of you might still be wondering whether your device will be getting the update while others maybe basing their device purchasing decision based on the update roadmap. This list will keep you informed up to date on matters regarding the updates.
Before we start off, it is important to note that as of November 2016, the adoption rate for Android 7.0 Nougat was just 0.3% out of all the Android device on the market. Marshmallow too entered the market with a similar share but is now running on 24% of all Android devices.
It is also important to note that while the device listed here will get the update, there maybe other devices that haven’t yet been added to the list and as a result, we shall regularly add new devices to the list as and when manufacturers announce the update plans. Also keep in mind that any update timeline might change based on the country as well as on whether or not, you have an unlocked unit or a carrier specific one.
Motorola
Motorola has released a full list of devices that have been confirmed to receive Android 7.0 Nougat. The update has already started rolling out for the Moto Z and Moto Z Force as well as Moto Z Droid and Z Droid Force on Verizon . It is expected to roll out for 4th Generation Moto G devices by the end of this month. This means that as always, Moto is leading the pack when it comes to the speed at which their devices get updated to the latest Android version.
Here are the devices that will be getting the update:
Moto G (4th Gen)
Moto G Plus (4th Gen)
Moto G Play (4th Gen)

Unfortunately, the Moto E3 power and the 3rd generation Moto G do not make the cut.
