A report emerging out from Korea has claimed that LG has sent invitations for an event scheduled on February 13, where the company is expected to unveil the long rumoured G Pro 2 smartphone.

The current claim is in-line with our earlier report that saw LG confirming that the Optimus G Pro's successor is official, and would be launching in February, which happens to be right around MWC 2014.

However, the South Korean major did not specify an exact date for the G Pro 2 unveiling. LG has dropped the Optimus moniker, calling the smartphone the G Pro 2.

ZDNet Korea in a report has posted the purported teaser image of the LG's invite, which has a tagline that reads, "Knock-knock knockin' on".

The LG invite also notes the venue which states LG Twin Towers in
Yeouido, Seoul. The Knock tag in the teaser image hints that the upcoming G Pro 2 might again support company's Knock feature.

Notably, the Knock feature was introduced on company's flagship smartphone, the LG G2 and is company's version of double tap to unlock and even lock the phone. Later, the feature was included in LG's G Pad 8.3 tablet followed by the G Flex curved display smartphone and now the feature will be coming to LG's L series II smartphone line-up.

The yet-to-be-announced LG G Pro 2 is said to come with a 6-inch display size along with a full-HD (1080x1920 pixel) resolution.

The smartphone is also said to be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, paired with 3GB of RAM, reports ET News.

The previous rumoured specifications of the device indicated that the expected G Pro 2 would come with a 5.9-inch display with 1440 x 2560 QHD resolution.

Previous reports had hinted the handset will be equipped with a fingerprint sensor placed at the back panel of the device. However, these rumours will be discarded if the images leaked for the device are said to be valid.
