Lenovo Z2 Plus goes on sale September 26 and will be an Amazon exclusive starting at Rs 17,999. Lenovo Z2 Plus has been re-branded from ‘Zuk 2’ that was announced earlier this year. The VoLTE smartphone comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset and claims to be the cheapest device to be running on it.
Lenovo Z2 Plus comes with a 5-inch IPS LCD display with 1920×1080 pixel resolution. It is running on a Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset coupled with an Adreno 530 GPU. It will be available in two options – 3GB RAM/ 32GB ROM and 4GB RAM/ 64GB ROM.
The Z2 Plus comes with a 13MP primary shooter with a phase detection auto focus, and an 8MP front camera. The phone is backed by a non-removable 3500mAh battery, and is running Android Marshmallow. It also features fast charging with Quick Charge 3.0.
According to Lenovo, the fingerprint scanner on the phone will be able to detect and unlock wet and oily fingers as well. The sensor is said to be capable of detecting irregularities like wounds, dry skin, skin peel and more.
The U-Touch 2.0 sensor on the device is designed to let a user give up to seven different commands to the device. Single touch on the sensor will take the user back, long touch will open the notification Center, double touch will work as an app switcher, swiping left/right will show recent apps, single press will take the user back home, and a long press will open Google Now.
Other sensors on the phone include a 3-axis gyro sensor, a 3-axis acceleration sensor, a 3-axis electronic compass sensor, proximity sensor and a distance measuring pedometer. Coupled with the U-Health app, the phone will be able to track a users steps, distance, calories and also generate health alerts.
Lenovo Z2 Plus page on Amazon also shows a ‘quiz’. Successfully completing the Lenovo Z2 Plus Quiz, a user stands the chance to win Rs 2,000 in Amazon gift cards. The Quiz will only be valid till today. We tried to play the quiz, but after answering the first question it redirected us to a “Play Now” page that said “Answer the remaining questions to be eligible for winning”. The quiz kept redirecting us when we tried it again.
