In a bid to tap into India’s key tier-3, tier-4 and tier-5 cities and towns, Lenovo India has embarked on a retail expansion across the country. The vendor kick started a nationwide expansion, in line with its Getting closer to customers strategy, and recently inaugurated four new LES Lite stores in Bihar.

A smaller version of Lenovo Exclusive stores (LES), Lite is designed to be typically around 150-250 sq ft in size. The store will showcase the entire range of Lenovo’s consumer products—namely notebooks, netbooks, desktops and all-in-ones—to address the growing computing needs of consumers in the upcountry markets.
“LES Lite stores will help us connect with our consumers across the length and breadth of India,” said Alex Li, Vice President, Home and SMB, Lenovo India. “We plan to open around 400 LES Lite stores across key upcountry markets by the end of FY 2010-11. LES Lite stores will showcase the entire range of Lenovo’s consumer product range under one roof.”

The new LES Lites will provide customers an end-to-end brand experience in line with Lenovo’s latest “What’s your idea of Fun?” positioning.

While inaugurating the new LES Lites, Li added, “Bihar has witnessed tremendous growth in the last few years, particularly with the booming education sector. We would like to leverage this growth and offer our customers and partners a whole new brand experience under one roof. The opening of our four LES Lite format stores further reinforces our commitment to Bihar’s dynamic PC market.”
New consumer products available in the store include the IdeaPad Z series notebooks, IdeaPad Y460 and Y560 premium multimedia notebooks; G series notebooks; and all-in-one IdeaCenter A300 and IdeaCentre B300.

Lenovo’s regional distributor in Bihar is Peripheral Engineers.
