LeEco to set up Content Delivery Networks across 10 cities in India by 2016 end

LeEco has announced its in-house Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) in 10 cities across India by end of 2016. LeEco plans to invest over $10 million to set up the cloud infrastructure. The CDNs will provide content delivery in linear channel, live events and video on demand on both mobile and TV.

LeEco recently announced its Le Ecosystem model and the delivery networks will ensure faster seamless distribution of content. LeEco expects to reach out to nearly 10 million smart devices users base.

LeEco plans to set-up these in-house CDNs across 10 locations including New Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore. “LeEco’s strategic vision in the cloud is unique when compared with competitors, not only in scale but also scope. India will be the second market after China, to have content we provide. We plan to tie up with providers to deliver third party content and are also evaluating producing LeEco’s own local content,” said Atul Jain, COO, Smart Electronics Business, LeEco India.

LeEco has announced partnerships with Eros and Yupp TV for content on mobile phones. Eros Now for Video-on-demand (VOD) and YuppTV for TV content streaming.

LeEco content library has over 10,00,00 episodes of TV shows and nearly 5,000 copyrighted films in China. The company also established its own production house Le Vision Pictures (LeVP) and has acquired Flower Film & TV.
