The last few years have seen a gradual shift from a single core CPU to eight and even ten core processors powering smartphones. But now it seems that this year the smartphone wars are shifting to who offers higher RAM in their handsets.
LeEco just announced the Le Max 2 , a mid ranged smartphone that offers a whopping 6-gigs worth of RAM. This was closely followed by the OnePlus 3 , which again offers the same amount of RAM at a slightly lower price. But now rumours are coming in that LeEco wants to jump ahead of time and is working on another device which will offer a ridiculous 8GB of RAM.
According to GizChina this new smartphone from LeEco will be powered by a Snapdragon 821/823 processor even though the current Snapdragon 820 is compatible with such high RAM units. The smartphone is also said to feature a 25MP camera, a fingerprint scanner at the back and an approximate value of 3000 yuan (Rs 31,000).
The so-called render of LeEco’s new smartphone looks very similar to the recently launched Le Max 2 with a metal build and could be just another variant that the company plans to introduce later. The leaked info could entirely be false but knowing LeEco, they might just have a similar device under the wraps.
