Lava has launched a new smartphone called the P7+ and is priced at Rs 5,649. The smartphone is currently listed on the company’s official website, but its availability is not yet known. The P7+ comes in two colors gold and grey. This is the second variant of the Lava P7 smartphone which was launched this year in January for Rs 5,499. The P7+ in comparison with the P7 brings a series of changes with it in terms of software and hardware as well.
The Lava P7+ has a very slight difference in its price when compared to the Lava P7. The 5-inch FWVGA display has improved to an HD display but lacks Corning Gorilla Glass protection. The rear camera and the selfie camera have both been upgraded to higher megapixels. The 2,000mAh battery has also been improved to a 2,500mAh battery. Lava P7 runs on Android Lollipop 5.1 but with a guaranteed upgrade to Android Marshmallow 6.0, while the Lava P7+ comes with Android Marshmallow 6.0 out-of-the-box. The Lava P7+ comes with a host of additional features like Vibration on Call connection and Auto call recording. Its camera features include Night Pro, Intelligent selfie, Pic Focus, Sound picture and Smart Gestures.

The Lava P7+ features a 5-inch HD (1280×1080 pixels) IPS display. Under the hood is a 1.3GHz quad-core processor along with 1GB of RAM. The smartphone comes with internal storage of 8GB which is further expandable up to 64GB using a microSD card. The Lava P7+ sports a 5-megapixel selfie camera with 84-degree wide angle view and an 8-megapixel rear camera. Both the front and rear cameras of the smartphone has a LED flash alongside it. On the software front, the Lava P7+ runs on Android Marshmallow 6.0. It is powered by a 2,500mAh battery. The smartphone offers connectivity options like dual-SIM, 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
Taking its specifications and price into consideration, the Lava P7+ will be up against the likes of the Intex Aqua Strong 5.1. Priced at Rs 5,599, the smartphone’s highlight is the 4G LTE support. Although the smartphone comes in a 5-inch FWVGA display, it has Gorilla Glass protection. The Intex Aqua Strong 5.1 runs on Android Marshmallow 6.0 and is powered by a MediaTek 1GHz quad-core processor.
Another smartphone in the competition list is the Karbonn Aura Power priced at Rs 5,990. This smartphone like the Intex Aqua Strong 5.1 also supports 4G LTE and is backed by a massive 4,000mAh battery. The smartphone runs on Android 5.1 and comes with a 1GHz quad-core processor. The Karbonn Aura sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel selfie camera.
The Panasonic P75 also fits the competition line priced at Rs 5,990 and the 5,000mAh battery being its highlight. The smartphone flaunts a 5-inch HD IPS display. It runs on Android Lollipop 5.1 with SAIL UI. Under the hood is a 1.3GHz quad-core processor along with 1GB RAM. Onboard storage comes in 8GB which is expandable up to 32GB. The smartphone sports an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel selfie camera.
