NEW DELHI: Lava International has
launched Iris Fuel 60, a new Android
smartphone that features a
4,000mAh battery at Rs 8,888. The
phone will be available in black and
white colours in retail outlets across
India and on major e-commerce
portals.
Lava Iris Fuel 60 sports a 5-inch IPS
HD (720x1280p) display that features
Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for protection
against scratches.

Powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek
MT6582 quad-core processor,
Mali-400MP GPU and 1GB RAM, the
phone comes with 8GB internal
storage and a microSD card slot that
supports cards of up to 32GB
capacity.

The USP of the phone is its
4,000mAh battery, which the
company claims, offers up to 32
hours of talk time on 2G without a
need to charge the phone. The phone
is also equipped with quick charge
technology that restricts the charging
time to 3 hours 15 minutes.

The phone runs Android 4.4
KitKat.The company says the phone
will be upgraded to Android L via
FOTA (firmware over the air) in the
future.

Lava Iris Fuel 60 is equipped with
gesture driven features such as
'double tap wake up' and 'drawing
gesture shortcuts' function that lets
users to draw certain letters on the
display in sleep mode and link these
with one of the various tasks within
the device.

According to Lava, the phone also
boasts of a 'solder-less'
manufacturing technology where each
component is connected to PCBA
(Printed Circuit Board Assembly) via
connectors, unlike conventional
smartphones where manual soldering
is used. This results in lesser defects
and makes it easier for service
engineers in case of any fault.

Iris Fuel 60 sports a 10MP rear
camera with single LED flash and a
2MP front camera. It also supports
full HD Video recording and digital
zoom with built in auto-focus,
panorama, HDR mode, face
detection, smile shot and voice
capture.

The dual-sim smartphone supports
3G connectivity apart from Wi-Fi,
Bluetooth 3.0 and USB OTG support
that enables file transfer through USB
drives.

Lava has unveiled their new
smartphone Iris Fuel 60 at an event
in New Delhi today. The smartphone
comes with a price tag of Rs 8,888.

The main USP of the phone is its
massive 4000 mAh battery, which it
claims can last up to 32 hours of talk
time on a 2G network. The phone is
also said to have a quick-charge
technology that allows the phone to
charge completely within 3 hours and
15 minutes.

Speaking at the launch of Iris Fuel

Fuel series has been carefully
designed by LAVA to meet such a
crucial need.”

In terms of the specifications, the
phone sports a 5-inch HD IPS display
with a resolution of 720 x 1280
pixels. The screen is protected with a
layer of Gorilla Glass 3.

The Iris Fuel 60 is powered by a
1.3GHz quad-core Cortex
A7 processor along with 1GB RAM. It
comes with a built-in storage space
of 8GB and can be expanded up to
32GB with a microSD card.

It’s also equipped with a 10MP rear
camera along with a 2MP front-facing
camera. In addition, there’s support
for full HD video recording and digital
zoom with built-in auto-focus,
panorama, HDR mode, face
detection, smile shot and voice
capture.

The phone runs on Android 4.4
KitKat and can be expected to
receive the Android Lollipop update.
The Iris Fuel 60 will be available in
black and white colours in retail
outlets across India and leading e-
commerce portals.
