Lava has added two new smartphones in its ‘A’ series smartphones, called the Lava A68 and Lava A32 . The smartphones are priced at Rs 4,599 and Rs 2,999 respectively. The Lava A68 will be available in gold, silver and black color variants whereas the A32 will come in black and white colors only.

Lava A68 specifications

The Lava A68 comes with a 4.5-inch FWVGA (800×400) display. It is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor along with 1GB of RAM. Also on offer is 8GB of internal storage which can be further expandable up to 32GB via microSD card.

On the camera front the Lava A68 sports a 5-megapixel rear camera along with a VGA front camera. Both the front and back cameras come with LED flash. Other features of the camera include HDR, photo timer and grid. The smartphone comes with 1,750mAh battery and includes connectivity options like 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.0, GPS, USB 2.0 and 3.5mm audio jack. The smartphone runs Android Marshmallow.

Lava A32 specifications

The Lava A32 is an entry-level smartphone and features a 4-inch WVGA display. Under the hood the smartphone runs 1GHz single-core processor paired with 256MB of RAM. The smartphone also offers 512MB internal storage which can be further expanded to 32GB via microSD crad.

Lava A32 features

The Lava A32 comes with a 2-megapixel rear camera with flash and a VGS front camera. It comes with 1,500mAh battery which the company claims is good enough to provide up to 10 hours of talktime on 2G and 9 hours talktime on 3G. Connectivity wise, the smartphone supports 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v2.1 and 3.5mm audio jack. Surprisingly the Lava A32 runs 4.4.2 KitKat out-of –the-box.

Looking at the specs, the Lava A32 competes with the Micromax Canvas Spark 2 and InFocus Bingo 10, both of which are priced at Rs 3,999. The main difference between the Lava A32 and its competition is the OS. The Micromax Canvas Spark 2 and InFocus Bingo 10 run Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box where as the Lava A32 still runs the old Android KitKat 4.4.2.

On the other hand, the Lava A68, which is priced at Rs 4,599 is low-budget smartphone and will face direct competition in the likes of
Intex Aqua Wing and Reliance Digital LYF Flame 5 which are priced for Rs 4,599 and Rs 3,999 respectively and come with 4G support. The LYF Flame 5 also supports VoLTE.
