Karbonn might soon introduce a new
'Platinum' smartphone series by
launching the Platinum P9 handset, as it
has been listed by an e-commerce
website and is available to buy at Rs.
8,899. The firm has not yet listed the
smartphone on its website.
The Karbonn Platinum P9 dual-SIM
smartphone features a 6-inch qHD
(540x960 pixels) IPS display with
Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The
smartphone is powered by a 1.3GHz
quad-core (unspecified chipset)
processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. It
comes with 16GB of inbuilt storage,
which is further expandable via microSD
card (up to 32GB).
The Android 4.4.4 KitKat-based Platinu
P9 sports an 8-megapixel rear camera
with LED flash, while there is a secondar
8-megapixel front-facing camera also
onboard. It is worth mentioning that
Micromax, another smartphone maker,
launched a 13-megapixel front-facing
camera smartphone named Micromax
Canvas Selfie last month, but at Rs.
15,999.

On the connectivity front, the Karbonn
Platinum P9 offers 3G, GPRS/ EDGE, Wi-
Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Micro-USB, and
Bluetooth options. The smartphone
packs a 2500mAh battery. The handset
is available in Black colour variant only
via Snapdeal.
The smartphone might prove to be
competition to the Huawei Ascend GX1
smartphone when it comes to display,
processor and RAM. While the Platinum
P9 leads in camera section, the GX1
comes with a larger battery.
Karbonn last month launched the
Titanium Dazzle smartphone in India at
Rs. 5,490. The dual-SIM based Karbonn
Titanium Dazzle comes with support for
21 languages, which can be considered
the highlight of the device. Key
specifications of the handset include a 5
inch (480x854 pixels) FWVGA display; a
1.2GHz quad-core processor; 1GB of
RAM; 8GB of inbuilt storage, which is
further expandable via microSD card (up
to 32GB); a 5-megapixel rear camera; a
2-megapixel front-facing camera, and a
1850mAh battery.
