Reports surfaced about the Cena-Nakamura matchup on Monday. Later in the evening, during WWE's "Monday Night RAW" show, a commercial reportedly aired locally in Hawaii announcing Nakamura vs. Cena and Brock Lesnar vs. Kevin Owens as double main events.
ProWrestlingMag later confirmed the matchup with the venue in Honolulu, and said that the event would air live on the WWE Network.

While Cena is probably one of the biggest stars in the WWE, Nakamura is known worldwide as a star in the Japanese wrestling circuit. After finishing his contract with New Japan Pro Wrestling in January, Nakamura signed with WWE and was assigned to their developmental territory, NXT. Nakamura, who made his NXT debut last month, is undefeated in his four NXT matches and fans are eagerly awaiting his WWE debut.
With Cena vs. Nakamura and Lesnar vs. Owens both being pay-per-view-caliber matches, there has been a lot of speculation that the WWE Honolulu event will be aired as a pay-per-view "Bash from the Beach" network special. WWE has not yet announced any plans to televise the event.
