It's called as domain hoarding. When a new product/service is due for launch, people register the probable domain names and sometimes manage to sell it to the brands at a much higher cost.
I don't think domain hoarders would take the effort of building up a fake website. Most domain hoarders puts up (this domain is for sale) tag on their site.

It depends on the hoarder itself. If the hoarder themselves are interested in the service, it would take a couple of minutes to get a shared hosting and put up such webpage in place.

I don't think website hotstar.com name change, it is still continue from Fox to Disney, might be with Reliance. H (*h*otstar)is capital is not it's trademark.

This guy was basically begging for RIL to fund his tution fees and is now playing victim card 😂😂
He won't get anything from Reliance, rather he has a chance to save his lawyer fees by just complying with them. If it reaches the lawsuit level, there is no way he is winning against Reliance. Even though there is no specific law for Cybersquatting, the Trademarks act of 1999 covers domain names which are similar to registered trademarks and the ruling will be in favour of the trademark holder.
