With 4G they had to build the network from scratch (Greenfield network). With 5G they have the fiber network and existing 4G sites in place where they just needed to add the 5G transmitters. So the 5G rollout was bound to be faster. Besides they had been working on their own proprietary 5G stack since nearly 2 years and were also working on the supply chain with Nokia, Ericsson and Samsung in the last 1 year when they had the test spectrum provided. So they were able to start the imports as soon as they got the spectrum allocation after the auction.With this there is Jio 5G in more than 100 cities across the country it is very fast rollout compared to the speed with which 4G was rolled out across the nation
