We want article 370 removed any which way....

If for doing that, BJP has to tie up wid congress, I m ok wid that :k

A Division within PDP Over BJP Support
At least ten of the 28 PDP MLAs have rejected the idea of an alliance with the BJP as it would go “against their mandate”.
SRINAGAR: After consultations with its newly elected MLAs, the People’s Democratic Party is facing a divide within to seek BJP support for government formation in the state, sources said on Tuesday.
They said at least ten of the 28 PDP MLAs have rejected the idea of an alliance with the BJP as it would go “against their mandate”.
While the party President herself has opposed the alliance, many senior leaders have supported a tie up.
The MLAs have been individually meeting the PDP leadership before the party takes a final call ahead of its meeting with the governor.
“If we go with the BJP, it will be political suicide for us. It is better to have governor’s rule if required,” one of the MLAs reportedly said.
However, the group which wants a tie up feels that this is the best opportunity for the PDP to turn around the politics of the state. “Six years is a long time in politics and if Mufti Mohammad Sayeed as CM delivers, we will be able to strengthen ourselves in both Srinagar and Delhi.”
The BJP being in power at the Centre is a clear attraction since central funds for flood relief will be the immediate challenge. A Modi-Mufti alliance is seen by the pro-alliance group as a coalition that can outlast the arrangement the Abdullahs had with the Congress leadership.
But the mathematical reality is being countered with a political one. A section of the PDP is concerned that the tie-up will lead to a backlash in the valley. “The high voter turnout was because the voters didn’t want the BJP to bloom in the valley. If we tie up with the BJP, the NC will benefit from it.” The anti-alliance group stresses on the fact that saffron outfits are carrying out “ghar wapsi” drives across India.

‘Revoking Article 370 means burning the bridge between J&K and India’ - Omar Abdullah - Jammu & Kashmir National Conference (15 seats and 20.8% Vote Share).

"Article 370 connects Jammu and Kashmir with the rest of India and if it is abrogated, the accession of the state with India will automatically become redundant". - People's Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti. (28 seats and 22.7% Vote Share).

"He (Modi) doesn't know ABC of the Constitution of India. He should know it was Sardar Patel who presented Article 370 before the Constituent Assembly. If he wants to debate around the Article, let him debate it with me. Article 370 is an integral part of the Constitution of India. It cannot be abrogated," - J&K Congress president Saifuddin Soz. (12 seats and 18% Vote Share).

"I think it is much more toned down version of the BJP. Having said that people who talk about removal of Article 370 are not in sync with the constitutional realities of the accession," - Sajjad Lone, the chairman of Peoples Conference. (2 seats and 1.9% Vote Share) .

If anyone can form a govt without these people's support (they make 57 out of 87 seats with 63.5% Vote Share) then we can think about removing article 370. Otherwise there is nothing much that can be done without making a bigger .. even a bigger mess.

BJP LEADERS MEET GOVERNOR; TO HANDOVER PROPOSAL ON GOVT FORMATION ON JAN 1

With the suspense continuing over the formation of new government in Jammu and Kashmir, the Bharatiya Janata Party ‘s (BJP) general secretary Ram Madhav and state unit chief Jugal Kishore met Governor Narendra Nath Vohra on Tuesday to discuss the issue.

The Governor on Friday had sent separate letters, inviting PDP President, Mehbooba Mufti and state President of BJP, Jugal Kishore Sharma for discussions over government formation.

After meeting the Governor Jugal Kishore talked to media reporters and said that though the meeting with the governor can be seen a part of the ongoing process for the government formation but BJP leader will meet the Governor on January 1 to hand over a detailed proposal of BJP about the government formation.

Asked about the possibility of grand alliance between NC, PDP and Congress, he said, “Though I am not aware about the formation of any such alliance, but if any such alliance is formed, it would be a betrayal with the people of state as BJP got the maximum share of votes in the elections”.

He said that talks are on with the other parties. “Talks are going on. We are exploring options on who will support the BJP, but only BJP can provide a stable government to the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.

Demanding that the next chief minister should be from BJP, he said, “We think that Chief Minister should be from the BJP. The party president is the final authority to take a decision on it,” he said.

BJP with 25 MLAs is the second largest party and needs another 19 to reach the halfway mark of 44 in the 87-member Assembly. Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has 28 MLAs, followed by National Conference (15), Congress (12) and seven legislators from smaller parties and independents.

Meanwhile, PDP has also suggested an alliance with its arch rival National Conference and the Congress with PDP chief spokesman Naeem Akthar saying the tie up is also an option. Sources told KNS that PDP, which is holding intra-party discussions on possible alliances to form the next government in the state, has asked its newly-elected MLAs to go back to their constituencies for getting feedback from their constituents. Sources said the PDP patron wants to build a consensus within the party before taking any decision over the government formation.
