itel Mobile on Friday said that it has been named as the market leader in eight Indian states, according to the latest CMR report. The eight states include Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, West Bengal, and Jammu & Kashmir.
“One of the major reasons behind itel’s grand success in the Indian market is the approach that we have adopted. Not only do we offer innovative, value-plus products to aspiring mobile phone owners, but also have a huge distribution base which allows us to deeply penetrate into the relatively untapped rural markets,” said Sudhir Kumar, CEO, Itel Mobile India.
The company in a statement said that it has achieved a target by selling 1.6 million handsets in October itself.
“We will now look to build upon our success and empower Indian consumers in order to utilise their ‘Right to Progress’ in an increasingly digital-first world,” added Kumar.
The company citing Q3 CMR report said that it has secured 6th position in the feature phone category while capturing 2% market share in less than a quarter.
