The Indian Super League (ISL) regulatory commission has come down heavily on FC Goa as the franchise have been imposed a fine of 11 crores for their callous actions after the final of the tournament. Shrinivas Dempo and Dattaraj Salgaocar, the two owners of the team have also been handed long-term suspensions. While Salgaocar has been banned for three years, Dempo has been given a two-year ban.

Fretired high court justices DA Mehta and BN Mehta, former Mumbai DGP D Sivanandan, ex-India cricketer Kiran More and sports law expert Vidhushpat Singhania were part of the commission that slapped the outfit with such a heavy punishment.

In March this year, the AIFF Disciplinary Committee charged FC Goa under disciplinary code’s article 53 (team misconduct), article 58 (offensive behaviour) and article 60 (threats).
“FC Goa has been fined Rs 50 lakhs (which is to be paid within 10 days) for not attending the post match presentation ceremony of the ISL Final 2015," read a statement issued by the All India Football Federation.
