Stage is set for the cash-rich Indian Premier League's (IPL) new season starting April 9, and all the eight teams are running their final check-lists to keep everything in order for a good start.

After coming fourth in their first season during IPL 6, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) had to be content with sixth position in the next two seasons. But coach Tom Moody seems pretty confident ahead of the new season and is hoping that SRH at least make it to the play-offs this time around.

"We are very motivated like we are every year; there is no doubt about that. We are keen to play finals cricket. We are setting our target on being in that top four," Moody told the league's official website, IPLT20.com.

"Had we won one of our last two games last year, we would have ended up second on the table. We weren't that far off. We had a very good season last year. If it wasn't for a couple of unfortunate situations in our last two games here at home, against Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians, we would have ended second," he added.

Hyderabad invested their money smartly during the IPL auctions earlier in the year, bidding successfully for Yuvraj Singh, Ashish Nehra, Deepak Hooda, Aditya Tare, Abhimanyu Mithum, Mustafizur Rehman, Barinder Sran and a few more.

"A player like Yuvraj Singh is important to any team. He is not only a match-winner with the bat but he is a very useful bowler in those middle overs. Going into the auction, we were aware that we needed to strengthen our middle order. Hence we targeted players like Yuvraj and Deepak Hooda to give us that depth in our middle order," Moody added.

However, there are question marks over Yuvi's fitness and according to Moody he will be out for a couple of weeks.

“Sadly, Yuvraj will be out for a couple of weeks but we don’t know how long that is going to be,” Moody informed hoping for Yuvraj’s speedy recovery from an ankle injury that he sustained during the recently concluded ICC World Twenty20.

Along with Yuvraj, SRH also bagged Nehra at the auctions. The left-arm pacer is coming into the tournament after an excellent WT20. Nehra made his international debut in 1999 and made a comeback to Team India at the age of 37 late last year after a gap of 4-5 years. Since then, he has been performing consistently in T20 cricket. He bowled some brilliant spells in WT20 and was also in ICC's team of the tournament.

"It is great to have someone like Nehra who has so much experience and is in such good form at the moment. He is the senior bowler in the team," Moody said.

Deepak Hooda was impressive last season when he was playing for RR. Hope he is there in Hyderabad's playing XI [emoji106]

Injury is a very big concern for teams. Especially if it's their top Player.:s

Even Malinga fitness is a big concern for Mumbai.:(
