It is according to the auction rules laid back before the mega auction.

Right rule.. sudden drops will change the team composition. Hope he wil be banned for 2 yrs.

Earned enough from first season itself , so he can chill for next 2 yrs.

Good decision by BCCI to actually enforce the rule and ban him. Highly unlikely he'll ever be picked again in IPL even after ban ends. Very much possible that he might have been offered England's white ball captaincy that's why he opted out.
