iPhone 7 Launch: Apple Unveils New Wireless Beats Headphones...
Apart from the AirPods (LINK), Apple on Wednesday has also launched a new range of Beats wireless headphones to be used with the new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. The Beats Solo3, Powerbeats 3, and BeatsX headphones are all powered by the same W1 chip that powers the AirPods, and this allows the new headphones to pair quickly and easily with the new iPhones.
All three new Beats headphones models are Bluetooth-powered, so they will work with other media sources as well, apart from the new iPhones. The BeatsX headset charges using the Lightning cable, while the Solo 3 and Powerbeats 3 charge using a Micro-USB cable. The BeatsX has a claimed battery life of eight hours on a full charge, while the Powerbeats 3 and Solo3 claim to run for 12 hours and 40 hours respectively.
The headphones are priced at $299 (Rs. 19,900 approx.) for the Solo3, $199 (Rs. 13,200 approx.) for the Powerbeats 3 and $149 for the BeatsX (Rs. 9,900 approx.). The Solo3 is already available to buy on Apple.com, while the other two models will be made available later this year.
The Beats brand is owned by Apple and was always expected to be among the first manufacturers to announce support for the new iPhone 7 with its headphones. Other manufacturers are expected to follow suit in announcing wireless headphones and Lightning-powered headphones to use with the new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.
