Just days after launching the cheapest smartphone in India with a fingerprint scanner, Intex has today broken its own record so to say. The company has launched a new smartphone called Intex Cloud String HD , which is a fingerprint scanner boasting smartphone priced at Rs 5,599. The smartphone is not listed on Intex’s website, but has a page dedicated to it on Flipkart .
The Intex Cloud String HD has fingerprint sensor at the back placed just below the rear camera. This is the second affordable smartphone in Intex’s portfolio to boast a fingerprint scanner. The scanner can not only be used to unlock the device, but also to add a layer of security to apps. The scanner can also be used to click photos.
As for design, the smartphone comes with a sleek back finish which is styled with monochromatic colors featuring a black and white combination on one and on the other, a gold and white combination.
Intex Cloud String HD specifications, features:
The smartphone sports a 5-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) 2.5D curved display, and is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor with a 1GB of RAM. The internal memory of 8GB can be further expanded up to 32GB using a microSD card.
The Cloud String HD also features an 8-megapixel camera on the rear, 5-megapixel selfie camera, and a removable 2,200mAh battery. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE support, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. On the software front, it runs on Android Lollipop 5.1.
At this price point, the Cloud String HD does have the advantage of being the only smartphone with a fingerprint scanner. When the rest of the specifications and features are taken into consideration, it will have to compete against the likes of Coolpad Note 3 Lite and Phicomm Energy E670 to name a few.
