If you are yet to ditch Internet Explorer 6, a web browser released in 2001, now is the time to do it. Unless you want to be called dumb. According to a study by AptiQuant, a psychometric consulting company in the US, the average IQ of people using Internet Explorer 6 is just above 80 points. In comparison, people using Opera browser were found to have an average IQ of over 120 points.

The study showed a substantial relationship between an individual's cognitive ability and their choice of web browser. From the test results, it is a clear indication that individuals on the lower side of the IQ scale tend to resist a change/upgrade of their browsers," AptiQuant researchers wrote in the report.

The average IQ for people using Internet Explorer 7 was also found to be slightly more than 80 points. For users of Internet Explorer 8 and Internet Explorer 9 it was around 90 points. In comparison, Firefox users were found to have an average IQ of above 100. Chrome and Safari users had an average IQ of above 110 points.
