Intel has introduced new Optane for PCs that promises significantly more performance and faster load times across a broad range of personal computing experiences. It uses uses one or two single-die packages of 3D XPoint non-volatile memory and comes in 16GB and 32GB capacities.

“With the increased speed and responsiveness of Intel Optane memory in a 7th Gen Intel Core processor-based system, you can power on your computer up to twice as fast and improve overall system performance up to 28% faster with storage performance up to 14x faster,” says Intel.

Micron is already in reasearch phase for the next version so lets wait and see what happens , as for intel their results are not up to what they claimed .

See, if they can combine hard-disk and ram in to one single package then it will truly be a breakthrough. As of now its better for normal and job oriented users to go for other options .
