Indian smartphone brand Itel has launched 6 new mobile phones. The smartphones range includes the PowerPro It1410, Wish It1508, and SelfiePro It1511 priced at Rs 3,399, Rs 3,899 and Rs 6,999, respectively. The feature phones range now includes the Shine It2180, SmartPower it5600, SmartSelfie It5231 and that are priced at Rs 839, Rs 973, and Rs 1,296, respectively.
Itel claims that its new range of smartphones are an attempt to redefine consumer expectation and this indeed seems to show with lowest priced mobile phone priced at Rs 839, while the highest priced one is locked down at Rs 6,999.
What you get with the hardware is pretty much budget stuff. Starting with the smartphones, we have the SelfiePro It1511 that will be available in black and Champagne Gold and features a 5-inch display, a 2MP camera on the front and an 8MP camera on the back. Inside we get a quad-core, 1.0GHz chipset with 1GB RAM and 8GB of internal storage. The smartphone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow and is powered by a 2500mAh battery.
Next up we have the Wish It1508 smartphone that will be available in Dark Blue and Champagne Gold. The device features a 5-inch display. It comes with a 5MP camera on the back and 2MP unit on the front. Inside we get a Quad-core 1.2 GHz chipset paired with 512MB RAM and 8GB of internal storage. The handset runs Android 5.1 Lollipop and is powered by a 2400mAh battery.
Next up we have the PowerPro It1410 with a focus on battery life. The smartphone features a 4-inch display, 1.3 GHz dual-core chipset paired with 512MB RAM and 8GB of internal storage. The handset boots to Android 4.4.2 and packs in a 2800mAh battery.
Coming to the feature smartphones, we have the SmartSelfie It5231 that features a 2.4-inch display, MTK6260A chipset with 64MB onboard storage and 1900mAh battery. The SmartPower it5600 packs in a 2500mAh battery and features a 1.77-inch display and a MTK6261D processor. And lastly we have the most affordable feature phone, the Shine It2180 that comes with a 1.77-inch display, 1000mAh battery and 32MB internal storage.
Speaking on the launch, Sudhir Kumar, CEO, itel India, said, “In today’s digitally-led world, mobile connectivity has become a necessity instead of a privilege. With the launch of these phones, we are providing Indian consumers with the perfect amalgamation of value plus and functionality. We are confident that these phones will find great reception amongst the aspiring Indian mobile phone users and will play a major role in making India truly digital.”
“The rural and the semi-urban consumer, despite accounting for more than 60 percent of the country’s population, has hitherto been largely untapped by the incumbent mobile players. We are going to change that with a dedicated focus on providing extremely relevant, high-quality customized products that cater specifically to the connectivity requirements of these geographies,” added Sudhir Kumar.
