We all know income from freight is compensating passenger fare loss which is close to 26000 crore. Now Railway used by only 4 crore people for transportation but if freight tariff cost is hiked then it will affect all 130 crore indians. So those 126 crore people who are not using railway for transportation why should they pay more for freight hike ?
I am one of those 126 crore people bcoz there is no railway track within 100 km radius so only option is bus. To travel 80 km I have to pay Rs 50 in bus but then if someone who has access to railway pay only Rs 25 to travel 100 km which is totally unacceptable :dodgy
