Ten lost the bidding to Sony
BCCI was keen that Ten is not getting rights

Your Doubt - Why Sony is Telecasting this series?? Why not Ten Sports as Ten Sports owns the rights of Sri Lanka Cricket.?

Reason- Ten Sports currently holds the broadcast rights for international cricket in Sri Lanka, but as this series is surplus to what had been scheduled in the Future Tours Programme, SLC could sell these rights separately. The series was originally scheduled to be played in India, but the venues were switched as repayment for Sri Lanka's impromptu ODI tour of India last October and November.

As Sony paid highest bid as comparison with Ten Sports, so Sony is Telecasting this series.

Why Ten Sports not bid highest?

Because they thought series will be washed by rains and they'll not to make money from the series.
