12:11 Local Time, 10:11 GMT, 15:41 IST: An update from Cape Town:

"So, news from media manager - Indian team came to the stadium for a while and then left again. They'll wait for updates there. Still pouring." That's bad news!

Off topic But people in Cape Town would be very pleased with this rain. Remember there's a massive drought in the Western Cape and there was even this suggestion to the Indian team to finish their showers in 2 minutes, so as to save rain water. That's how bad the situation there is. Meanwhile the wait goes on...for resumption of day3

It had stopped raining and covers were being removed, but it started again.

13:00 Local Time, 11:00 GMT, 16:30 IST: Kau now with this good news: "The covers removal process begins." If there's no rain we should be probably playing some time in the second session.
13:06 Local Time, 11:06 GMT, 16:36 IST: Scratch that previous update from Kau. Now he says "it is drizzling." But with a rider - it is brighter though!

actually, its gud.... rain can only save us, in dis match...

chasing 250 in 4th innings will almost be impossible on this pitch.

14:17 Local Time, 12:17 GMT, 17:47 IST: More from Kau - "Meanwhile, here's some local gyaan: A good indicator to know when play may start is to look right from the press box. If you can see the table mountain, then that's good news. If you can't, then those clouds covering it are responsible for bringing the rain to Newlands. The "North-West wind" Right now I can see only 25% of that mountain. Better than the morning, but it is still drizzling."
14:13 Local Time, 12:13 GMT, 17:43 IST: Kau who's at it again: "It's raining, also rain getting heavier. The tyres coming on the sheet to keep them in place." Not good by the looks of it."

15:12 Local Time, 13:12 GMT, 18:42 IST: So now we have lost two sessions and the rain is still falling. The Super Sopper is doing its bit and hopefully we get to see some action today.

After the disappointment of no play yesterday, Cape Town is now showing off as it tries to make up with a beautiful day: clear blue skies, and temperatures around 20. No rain interruption is expected for the rest of the Test. If the fast bowlers can get the over rates sorted, we still have 196 overs of cricket left in this Test. Still time enough for a thriller. - Cricinfo
