Knowing the fact that Bhuvi is injured and won't be available for the ODI series also, India should have selected Deepak Chahar in the ODI squad as well as played him as the 3rd seamer in the playing 11.
Cause he is the one who is almost the perfect replacement for Bhuvi who can pick early wickets in the powerplay.
And probably not picking early wickets has only costed us in the first 2 ODIS.
Australia's first wicket in both the matches fell almost around the 20th over when the openers have set the platform for a big score. Bad selections for the overseas tour has not happened for the first time which has resulted in loss.

I have already said this when the team was announced the first time like atleast for the variety he brings to the table he should have been in that ODI squad. Many people here said it won't swing or whatever. Yes may be. But Chahar has many variations he used in 2019's IPL where he used bowl in the death. If given chance he can adjust with the conditions. Moreover in the last matches where Bhuvi hadn't played, India hadn't got early wickets.

Saini just got 6 wickets in the 13 matches he played this season. I dont know whats the criteria of his selection in the ODI squad let alone the final 11. Rubbish team selection and captaincy.

Lol! Sometimes these guys will go extents. Then in the same context I will say, both Kohli and Rohit got captaincy in 2013 for their respective franchises, Rohit has won 5 IPL titles from there. Kohli let alone winning the Titles, hasn't even qualified for the Playoffs those many times. I agree Captain is as good as the team. If someone says Rohit's success is bcoz of strong MI, then we can say Kohli's success as Indian captain is bcoz of strong Indian teams under him as well.

Ps. Saying this because of likes of Akash Chopra etc who are stringing on the same point always. Ik Gautam is strong advocater for split captaincy, but his reasons are reasonable enough compared to others.
