As said by some bros earlier, india shud ve gone with Mayank-vihari opening combo & Rahul in the middle or same opening combo & Hardik in the middle, with 3rd seamer not available he cud ve filled 3rd seamers slot & provide middle order batting option, these 9 runs by Rahul anybody could've scored.

Also feel Rahul has a gud potential & player for the future & out of confidence & form at the moment, needs a break now.

Missing Hardik here, seeing the bounce/pace generated by Aussies in the 1st session. Unless for a fitness issue, Hardik s non selection is a blunder.

Meanwhile i feel Mayank seems to be the find of the series for India.

Again Rahul gone early, not sure why he has given so many chances despite of poor form!!, they should have open with Parthiv if they want Hanuma in middle, and with this there will be left-right combo too else Hardik would have been in middle with same last test opening combo..

Possible, but takes time. Eventually he ll get a flat wicket & he ll hit triple ton. Maybe 400+ partnership with Pujara will do.
