Wrong.what if australia got some 450 plus score in 2st innings and india have to bat and win for 140 plus target means if rain comes it would be difficult for india to win in last day.see how Australians tails played today for a draw.whether we expect anyone from indian tailender to play like this?😊
Australia's fighting sprit is great 👍
That's true bro I had thinking the same

How come you expect 151 runs scoring team will score 450 runs ??

Please see the history of kolkatta match 2001.ind vs aus
Second, indian bowlers are tired and australia have nothing in hand and they will play defensive and get total past 400
India got 440 plus in first innings and got 100 plus in second innings

It was Kolkata , not Australia and not everytime happens the same thing
And Australian team isn't same as it used to be . Around a decade ago

Thinking of something that happened decades ago and playing now with that strategy while clear indication of rain is utterly stup#d.

Today morning 9am also it had rained in Melbourne.
Luckily it later didn't come . Who knows what tomorrow will happen . by any chance Australia ended up drawing game , whole criticism would go to Kohli and team management.

I was the fan of Australia , in past. The Steve Waugh captaincy. That the the true test match. Very interested one. There was 11/11 batsman lineup. Warne, Lee, Gillespie......😆😆. Nowadays I have no any interest in cricket. Tomorrow , we ll see, 2 wickets there. My prediction, Aussie win.(don't shout me brothers)

The main intention of not enforcing follow-on is indian bowlers are tried and can't be 100% good as they bowled in first innings.
Kohli gave one day rest to bowlers and asked aus to come out will field. Now aussies will be tired and indian bowlers will be fresh. So we can take wkts easily
This is the idea behind the not enforcing follow-on.
worst case, rain arrives, the match will get draw, which is not harm to india.
But, if india enforced follow-on and aussie put on big partnership against indian tired bowlers, then it will be very tough to win , or even to draw the match, as india might need to bat on fourth innings (5th day pitch)

It wasn't like India had bowled 2 days.
They had bowled oddly 50 0vers around .And what makes you think indian bowlers won't be effective considering they bowled out Aussie on 151 . Even Pujara also said scoring after 3 days was hard on this pitch

It's debatable. It wasn't like Indian bowlers have bowled 100 overs or above to be tired. They just bowled 60 odd overs between 5 bowlers. There were only 24 overs left in the day when Australia was bowled out. That is, another 6 overs between them that too in short bursts probably. They could have easily done it, may be could have even took another 2 wickets, and could have come back fresh in the morning and cleaned up the rest. Moreover, Aussie batsman morale was down. They were bowled out very quickly after their bowlers bowled 160 odd overs in the first innings. That would have played on their mind as well. And even if they could have got 350(Which looked highly unlikely), chasing 60 runs in 4th innings isn't a problem at all. Overall, IMO India should have enforced follow-on. But I think Virat and team management knew what they were doing and hopefully tomorrow India will win, even if there's some rain. Let's hope for the best.

Yes it is debatable. No one knows what could been happened if india enforced follow-on.
As far as i think, every home team, will prepare themselves once got out for 151 runs. It is not because of pitch , aussies out for 151. It is india bowlers bowled some extra ordinary balls to get the aussies wkts. We can't except once again it will happen. So kohli went for batting and give break to india bowlers . Kohli confident to get aussie wkts in the 5th day pitch. no one knows, when rain will come.
