Siddle doesn't think he has got hold on Tendulkar

PERTH: Australia's pace spearhead Peter Siddle doesn't think he has got a hold on Sachin Tendulkar, in contrary to the claim made by the home team's wicketkeeper Brad Haddin.

"The times I've bowled to Sachin, I probably have (been fortunate). I'm probably lucky enough I've got him two times in Melbourne. But in Sydney a couple of other blokes got him," Siddle said on Tuesday.

"We're building the pressure and whether it's against Sachin or against Dravid, or any of their batters, if I can build the pressure and it happens from the other end, we're going to get the breakthrough," he said.

Haddin had on Monday claimed that the Australia pacers, especially Siddle, has found a weakness in the armour of Tendulkar, whose quest for a 100th international century will restart in Perth from Friday.

The Victorian fast bowler also doesn't think that the pressure of scoring his 100th international ton is bogging down Tendulkar.

Rahul Dravid rubbishes Australian media reports, says no rift in Team India

NEW DELHI: Indian veteran batsman Rahul Dravid refuted Australian media reports that there is any rift in the team and said spirit is high ahead of the third Test at Perth.

An article in Australian newspaper Herald Sun says, "Virender Sehwag is the man polarizing opinions in the Indian rooms." The paper quotes Australian pacer Ryan Harris as saying that the "Indians were fighting among themselves" and the team does not have unity.

According to the article there is a division in the team on who should captain the Indian team. According to the report, some players are in favour of Sehwag as captain while a section wants Mahendra Singh Dhoni to continue as skipper.

If players are to be believed, the atmosphere inside the dressing room is not as it is being made out in the media, particularly Australian, but the spirit after two big losses is certainly low. They feel that one good performance on the field could help the team turn the corner.

Celebrating his 39th birthday on Wednesday, India's batting mainstay Dravid also said the green Perth pitch will be a great challenge for Indian batsmen in a do-or-die third Test.

Attack would be best defence for India at WACA

nBZog.jpg

Attack would be the best defence for India against a rampaging Australian pace battery when the two sides square off on the dreaded greentop wicket of WACA in the do-or-die third cricket Test starting on Friday.

Down 0-2 in the four-Test series, the Indians would be loathe to let a lot of deliveries go past their off-stump and allow the pressure to build in the WACA Test -- as has been the method of Australians in this series.

From Michael Clarke to James Pattinson to Peter Siddle to Mike Hussey, everyone has harped that bowling dot balls and stringing together maiden overs is the surest way to plot the downfall of this famed Indian batting line-up.

Wicketkeeper Brad Haddin went a step further by stating that Sachin Tendulkar doesn’t like it if he doesn’t “feel bat on ball and he wants to get into a rhythm...if we can push him a little wider, make him feel for the ball a bit, we can build enough pressure to get a chance and it’s worked in the last two Tests.”

The Indians now want to carry the attack into the rivals camp and it is a theory which is supported by possibly India’s greatest batsman against pace among the last two generations -- Mohinder Amarnath, now a national selector.

Just before he flew back to India after watching India go down abysmally in the first two Tests of this Australian summer, Amarnath mentioned he always believed a good pace battery can only be tamed and never worn down by a battle of attrition.
