The dates for Australia's upcoming tour of India was announced by Cricket Australia (CA) and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), on Friday (October 21). The series will begin on February 23 at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune.
The action will next shift to south of India, with the second game scheduled at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore from March 4. From March 16, the third Test will be played in Ranchi before the picturesque Dharamsala hosts the final game from March 25.
India have a 12-day break before the first Test against Australia begins, after their one-off home Test against Bangladesh in Hyderabad, from February 8. Australia, on the other hand, will have less than a day's gap between their last international fixture and the opening Test of the series. Steven Smith's side will host Sri Lanka in Adelaide on February 22 in a Twenty20 International (T20I).
Currently the likes of David Warner, Steven Smith, Mitchell Marsh, Mitchell Starc and Peter Nevill play both Tests and T20Is for Australia, but it remains to be seen if the visitors opt to field a completely fresh set of eleven for the first Test or keep some of the key players out of the T20I.
