The last date for filing Income Tax returns for FY 2019-20 has been extended to 30th Nov 2020. This applies to all types of tax payers.

What is the benefit to extend the ITR filing date? I mean all tax is submitted during advance tax months. People just need to fill ITR form. So why would anyone want to delay ITR filing and why does government extend the date every year?

PS: When exactly ITR filing starts every year? Every site mentions last date but no site mentions starting date.
