APC by Schneider Electric, a provider of power and cooling services, has announced a price rise between three and 10 percent across all its product portfolio effective December 15, 2011. The price rise is an outcome of the depreciating value of the rupee and the constant increase in costs of key commodities, transportation and freight.
This year, price increase has been observed across multiple industries due to huge impact made by the steep 18-20 percent depreciation of the rupee in the last four months and 30-50 percent inflation in the cost of commodities such as lead, copper and steel over the last 15 months.
Shrinivas Chebbi, Country General Manager and Vice President - India, APC by Schneider Electric said, “Uninterrupted power is the nerve of all mission critical applications, and we are now forced to pass on a small percentage of our input costs to our customers.”
