ICC's next eight-year cycle commencing from 2023 would have one ICC global (men's & women's) event every year

The title, news report and our subsequent discussion were not fully correct.

ICC want to have one ICC global tournament every year for Men and Women every year for the 8 year term of 2024-2031, for which they are selling telecast rights.
They already have 2 50 overs WC and 4 T20 WC in the term.
They want to add two more tournaments to fill the two vacant years without an ICC tournament, as the Champions trophy was scrapped.
Now they approved to have this additional tournament.
The nature and format of the tournament is not yet decided.

The ECB has joined the BCCI and Cricket Australia in raising concerns about the ICC's desicion to pprove eight global tournaments in the next rights cycle (2023-31). This, even as the Indian board, with a new administration in place, has hardened its existing opposition, creating the possibility of not signing the new fixtures' calendar.
