Head by replacing whom? Mendis? He has the best average (74.92) in current WTC! Williamson - 54.85, Root - 54.66, Brook - 50.44, Head - a very much poor 35.96. Even Dhananjaya De Silva (49.05), Rizwan (45.88), Saud Shakeel (44.91), Salman Agha (44.52), & Ravindra (42.78) have a much better average. There're few others also having better average than Head (Gill, Pant, Miraz).
One can argue why Bavuma isn't there with 60+ average, the answer would be; he has played only 5-6 matches in 2024, also 1000 runs might be the criteria for a batsman.
Stubbs have almost same average of Kohli.
