HTC Reveals Gold-Colored HTC One

After launching a limited edition HTC One made from 18-carat gold, HTC has revealed a more affordable HTC One variant with a gold finish.

The gold HTC One has the same specifications as the original device: A 4.7-inch 1080p screen, a quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor, 2GB of RAM and a 4-megapixel "ultrapixel" camera.

HTC's foray into gold-colored smartphones comes several months after Apple released a gold-finish iPhone 5S. Samsung has a gold edition of the Galaxy S 4, too, but it's reserved for the Middle Eastern markets.

Reports state that the gold HTC One will be available in Finland on Dec. 12 for $845 (€625), compared to the 18-carat HTC One for $4,400. Information about availability in other markets is not yet available.
