Since Android KitKat was released by Google last year, expectations to receive the same among the Android phone users have been quite aggressive. Few of the Samsung devices have already received it and obviously the Nexus devices have already got it. Now it looks like its time for the HTC One owners in India.
The company had announced back in November that it would roll out the Android 4.4 Kitkat update for the HTC One users in EMEA countries (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) starting from January-end.
Although a bit late than what was promised initially, the 330.06MB weighing OTA update has finally arrived in India now. Initially, HTC started rolling out the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update in parts of Europe, including Nordic regions last week. The latest update will take the device to the Android 4.4.2 version. Thus, the smartphone will now have access to several KitKat features.
Other Asian countries have also started getting the KitKat update for the single SIM version. It should be noted that the update is only being received by the single SIM HTC One. it is not clear when the HTC One Dual SIM would get the KitKat update in India.
Among all the new features, the Cloud print service will be enabled in the device here on. The update also brings in some security enhancements and new Bluetooth profiles to support more media interactions will also be seen.
Moreover, improvements can be seen in the multi-tasking operations. The owners will also be able to open and save files on Google Drive with additional 25GB of storage and the memory management system has also been improved.
HTC One single SIM variant owners who have not received the update, might want to try checking for the update manually by going to Settings > Phone Update > Check for Update.
