HP has announced the launch of its new Chromebook and an Android-powered laptop. Like the last year's Chromebook 11, the new HP Chromebook PC has a 11.6-inch display. Powered by a Samsung processor, the new Chromebook PC will be available in Snow White and Ocean Turquoise colours. It is claimed to offer up to six hours of battery life.

The Chromebook PC has an HD display with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. The device comes with 16GB of storage and 2GB of RAM. The Chromebook PC will start at $249 for a WiFi model, says the company, adding a version with built-in 3G is also in the offing.

The HP SlateBook, on the other hand, is an Android-powered notebook that lets users access Android apps and games on Google Play. It has a 14-inch (1920x1080) full HD touchscreen, and is 16mm thick. The device can give up to nine hours of battery life, says HP.

The new Android laptop runs Android 4.3 JellyBean and has an Nvidia Tegra 4 mobile processor with quad-core CPU (1.8 Ghz) GPU. The Slatebook PC will be available starting August 6 for $399.
