HP has launched its end-to-end solutions for hardware infrastructure for digital signage in India and is targeting a turnover of around Rs 25 crore in 2011-12 from the segment.

HP has also launched its 42-inch and 47-inch touch and non-touch monitors to address the needs of the segment. The end-to-end solutions would also include HP’s line of AIOs both touch and non-touch apart from thin clients, server and storage for backend for those requiring central control system. HP has also tied up globally with Scala to bundle its media players and other softwares.

As for distribution HP is looking at four to five partners almost in each city. “This is not a commodity and is not meant for the masses so we are looking at having 42-45 partners across India to start with who would be specialized in hardware and software so that customer experience is not hampered due to lack of partner know- how of technology. We are also planning to have 5-10 partners in B and C class cities by the end of the year,” said Rajat Mehta, Country Head, Emerging Business Group, HP India.

The distribution of the products would be through the HP commercial distribution network through Ingram, Redington and Rashi.

At the moment partners are undergoing training which is a combination of product training as well as face-to-face training. “In the first round we have already conducted the requisite training in the west and south while in the north it will take place this quarter and the training for the eastern region will be conducted by next quarter,” added Mehta.

Some of the partners who have undergone training recently include Sara Infoway, Inova System, Creative Infotech as well as Streme TV.
