How to open PDF files on my iPad?

By default, iTunes only shows the movies, music and tv shows submenu for connected & compatible iOS devices. To get the 'Books' submenu, open iTunes, go to edit on top menu bar and click on preferences . In the preferences box, you will see check boxes for various categories - check the box for Books and it will become visible under the device name in iTunes as a submenu. Please keep in mind that iBooks on the iPad does not show PDF files in its main window by default. You will need to open the app, tap 'Collections' and then select PDF's to view all the PDF files that you have copied on to the device .
