From YouTube to social media sites all I am finding is it's negativity about the app. Personally I find the offline downloads too slow. UI has become laggy. No one asked for crap like sparks. Irrelevant news was never needed for a streaming platform. But when it comes to content. No competitor even come close. Pricing is also good. Didn't face any server issue throughout Champions Trophy. But the ads were too much. I hate self promotion. Use ad slots to make money while not distrubing the experience. Also the colour of the UI is good. Logo and splash screen still sucks big time. Looks fine while content is playing.

people are complaining -some genuine, some because it is fashionable to complain. Thing is if someone has taken premium or super with ad free subscription the experience is very good. In fact, hotstar, tv app is better than Netflix tv app ( in terms of startup time, responsiveness etc).

Live Streaming is hard. Hotstar does it best. Netflix crashed during the Logan Tyson fight. And frankly speaking most of the online complaint is from people who are on the super plan comparing to Netflix but not willing to pay even 1500 while Netflix cost 7k-8k annually.

what can be better: With so much content, the algo has to be better. The recommendation engine on the home screen is still weak and the discoverability of new shows according to genres is weak. Even Netflix is getting sh#t content like wwe and games. But what Netflix does really well is in the recco engine and home page. Plus their categorization is really good.

what is bad: the ugly ugly new logo font and the logo itself. The splash screen is bad ( eyes go blind in a dark room). The splash screen, logo do not go with the rest of the UI. they should have gone back to the lovely blue color they had before disney plus.

About download speed, yeah, same here. I am getting 2-8 MB/sec., fluctuating speed in JioHotstar, while on JioCinema it was mostly 35-38MB/sec. on average. I don't remember download speed on Disney+Hotstar though.

1. PQ of various movies / Tv shows under HBO, paramount+ & Peacock has not been upto standard. No HDR / Dolby Atmos/ Dolby 5.1 in many of the shows.

2. There was a tab " All movies " & " All shows" under each of the HBO, Paramount+ and Peacock hubs, but in Jiostar , these tabs are not available. So, searching the list of movies / shows under these Hub is not possible. This is what, I feel the most is missing.

Categorisation of content under the above-mentioned hubs is totally horrible.

Yes, even the new additions is a struggle. You need to spend a lot of time to understand what new is loaded which is meeting your interest. Also, when you go to HUB the details are limited, and you have to do lot of permutation and combinations to identify the titles.

Key moments of IPL doesn't continuously play. It buffers. We have to manually select next moment for it to work on JioFiber's Hotstar app.

i want playback speed option on TV version and better small subtitle font (customise option) jio used to give 4k but im getting none content in 4k on hotstar
