How did Amazon know car details of this reddit user?

So I was browsing reddit. There I came across a post where Amazon was recommending car accessory to a user. To my surprise the OP stated he never disclosed his car details to Amazon.

As I couldn't find anything relevant answer there. I am curious to know how Amazon got user's car details. Maybe tech gurus in this forum can help me understand how Amazon got the details.

That's how it works. You buy car or bike accessories and you provide model details. They save it and whenever you search for any other accessory, they simply say whether its compatible or not. Nice feature.

Same happened with me. I ordered seat covers more than a year ago. Don't exactly remember if I did provide car details other than model number. But when I was going for an insurance in February, it fetched all the details.
 
Yes, it's handy......UNTIL you no longer OWN that automobile.
How do I tell Amazon: forget about the goddam BMW....I got RID of it?!?!
