Chandigarh, May 14: Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has accorded in-principle approval to extend benefit of two additional increments along with dearness allowance to those teachers who had got State or National Awards prior to September, 2008.

Stating this here today, Education Minister Geeta Bhukkal said this decision would benefit about 280 teachers. At present, 130 State or National Awardee Teachers were in service and about 150 retired teachers who were awarded prior to September 2008, she added.

She thanked the Chief Minister for giving another benefit to the teaching fraternity.

"This step would further boost the morale of teachers to make the state an education hub," she added.
