Heath Streak, former Zimbabwe
captain, has stepped down from his
role as Bangladesh's bowling coach.
Streak, who was appointed as the
coach of the Bangladesh setup in May
2014, was on a two-year contract,
which was set to expire by the end of
this month. During his tenure, the 42-
year-old played a vital role in the
development of promising pacers like
Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman
and Rubel Hossain.
"He has resigned," Akram Khan said on
Thursday (May 26) to ESPNcricinfo. "He
has informed the board. Now we will
speed up our search for the new
bowling coach."
Earlier, Akram had stated that they
were trying to persuade Streak to
continue in his role. "We always want
a settled unit for our coaching staff, so
we actually wanted Streak to stay.
However, if he wants to leave, we will
not try to hold him back."
