A 26-year-old young man has been arrested by the police in Maharashtra's Buldhana district on charges of theft and burglary. The youth, police say, had seven girlfriends and committed these crimes "to keep them happy".
Omprakash Rangnath Khandave has been arrested in connection with nine burglary cases; police say the man is alcoholic and likes to live a luxurious life.
Omprakash always dreamt of living life like the ultra rich and always travelled in the AC coach of the trains, police said. The cops have recovered 17 mobile phones and Rs 4.5 lakh from him.
There were complaints against Omprakash in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and Wardha, Bhusawal and Pune in Maharashtra. The Maharashtra Police formed a team under ACP Somnath Waghchoure to lay a trap for Omprakash and arrested him. He is now in police custody till February 17.
The police have also arrested a jeweller from Wardha, to whom Omprakash used to sell the gold ornaments he stole.
One of his girlfriends is from Nagpur, she is in Class 12. Omprakash met her through Facebook. He also gave her a valuable gift. Police are also questioning her.
