Hardik Pandya is expected to be out action for at least six weeks after he suffered a fracture in his right shoulder in Mohali, the Board for Control of Cricket in India announced on Tuesday (November 29). The all-rounder was hit during a net session and was subsequently released from the side to consult a specialist.
Pandya has been warming the benches for the India squad after he was handed a maiden call up to the Test team for this series.
India are already without the services of KL Rahul, who missed the Mohali Test due to a last minute forearm injury. Rahul also missed the first Test due to injury but was back in the side for the second Test in Vishakapatnam. The opener is expected to be fit for the Mumbai Test and will consult the specialist ahead of the game. Both Rahul and Pandya were released from the the squad during the Mohali Test.
